Kanching Waterfall
Kanching Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in the KL and Selangor areas, thanks to its majestic seven tiers, as well as its relative proximity to the city. The first four levels of the waterfall are connected by concrete steps, and levels two and three see the most visitors, where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the cascading falls, and wallow around in the pools. The roar of the water and the natural surroundings immediately evoke a sense of peace.
Templer Park Country Club
The golf course at Templer Park Country Club is crafted by acclaimed golf course architect Kentaro Sato with input from veteran Japanese professional and World Golf Hall of Famer Masashi “Jumbo” Ozaki, making it the first Japanese-owned and managed golf club; the first to offer buggies and lady caddies in the country, and also debuting the concept of night golfing with nine holes lighted after dark. Furthermore, it has hosted the prestigious Malaysian Open three times, and is one of the most scenic and challenging golf experiences you can find in Malaysia.
Batu Caves
Take another trip out of Rawang to Batu Caves, which is in relative proximity--about 20 minutes away. Batu Caves is a limestone cave formation, as well as a famous religious site dedicated to Lord Murugan. One of the most well-known Hindu shrines outside of India, Batu Caves also sees a great number of devotees for the Thaipusam festival each year. The brightly-coloured 272 steps to reach the top are great for the ‘gram, but come and experience the wonder of the cave yourselves, with audio guides available too.
Commonwealth Forest Park
Adjacent to the Kanching Recreational Forest and Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, Commonwealth Forest Park Falls makes three, and together these forests form a “lung” for the surrounding areas. Expected outdoor activities such as jungle trekking, jogging and hiking are available here, as are mountain biking, paintball, and ATV riding. Expand your lungs with fresh air in the forest, and feel your adrenaline surge with the activities.
